President-elect Donald Trump’s transition period is nearing its conclusion, with under a month remaining until he is inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. CNN has been monitoring the commitments he made during his campaign for a second term throughout the year.
In the past few months, Trump and his team have highlighted the policies he intends to implement on his first day in office—Inauguration Day is set for January 20, 2025. These policies encompass:

1. Secure the US-Mexico border.
2. Initiate what Trump describes as “the most extensive deportation initiative in American history.”
3. Accelerate the approval process for drilling and fracking permits.
4. Revoke environmental protections.
5. Grant pardons to individuals convicted of offenses related to the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the US Capitol.
6. Issue an executive order to eliminate federal funding for any educational institution that promotes critical race theory, transgender issues, and other unsuitable racial, sexual, or political content affecting children.
7. Dismantle President Joe Biden’s policies on electric vehicles.
8. Impose tariffs on imports from Mexico, Canada, and China.
